Choose the right core
The choice between granulation, tableting or encapsulation must be made carefully. Each core has advantages and disadvantages. For example, you often get more active ingredients in a tablet than in an equally sized capsule. If you want a product that the consumer has to dissolve in a glass of water, granulate offers more options than tableting or encapsulating. If a mixture has good flow properties, it can be supplied as a capsule with a minimum of additives. In addition, ease of use can determine the choice between granulating, encapsulating or tableting. Tabletting
Tabletting is the compression and binding of solids. SoliPharma can do this in both monolayer and bilayer. Based on our many years of experience, we often are able to surprise our customers positively with a nice solution.
Encapsulation
Encapsulation is a process that requires knowledge of the flow behavior of powders and granulates. Our highly experienced specialists - supported by our R&D department - know better than anyone what works and what doesn't.
Granulating
Granulation is a physical process, in which dry fast moving powder particles are bonded together with a little moisture and so create larger particles. We call these particles "granulate". We then dry this granulate back to the intended final moisture content. Optionally, the particle size distribution is then adjusted by means of sieving or high-speed mixing. SoliPharma granulates with a high shear mixer or with a fluidized bed.
Optionally choose a recognizable coating
The coating of a product is done for one or more of the following reasons: to improve the swallowability, the recognisability and / or the protection against moisture and / or to influence the release pattern. In addition to an inexpensive, efficient film coating and a traditional high-gloss sugar coating, a sprayable sugar coating is now possible. The aesthetic effect of this usually lies between film coating and sugar coating. You can also contact SoliPharma for all kinds of natural and clean label coatings and coating raw materials. In this way we make it easier for you to distinguish your products by means of a coating.
Filmcoating
With film coating, one or more thin layers are applied to a tablet or capsule. Such a layer can for example shield the core (a seal coating), allow controlled or extended release or give the core a certain color.
Sugarcoating
When it comes to aesthetics and good insulation, the traditional sugar coating is still popular. Multiple layers ensure excellent protection of the ingredients against external influences. Sugar coating is ideal for making a tablet larger, but is not suitable for extended release.
Choose a unique packaging
There are endless packaging options. That is why we like to think along with you about unique packaging concepts. Think of letterbox packaging, subscription concepts, refill packaging and sustainable packaging, whether or not personalized. In order to realize the right packaging for you, we work together with reliable and specialist partners.
Blistering
A blister is a hygienic, stable, individual and user-friendly packaging for capsules and tablets that is widely used for medicines. The protective and vapor-proof aluminum cover foil can be provided with various types of printing. The form foil - from which the blister pockets are made - consists of one or more identical or distinctive layers yet can also be made of aluminum. Each film composition has its own specific shelf life properties. An alternative pocket structure is also possible to present cores in a unique way.
Filling in jars
If the tablets or capsules are stable enough and a relatively large consumer packaging is required, a bottle or jar is an excellent solution. Made in traditional (colored) glass or in various types of (recyclable) plastic. One or more desiccant bags and odor masking gums can be added to a bottle.
Filling in sachets
Sacheting is an excellently suitable way of packaging granulate or powder. The sachet foil can be put together at your own discretion and provided with artwork. The sachets are often packed in a folding box as a consumer unit. If you have a different wish, we are happy to think along with you.
